North Central Ministerial Excellence Fund (NCMEF)

The Missionary Church, North Central District was informed by Lilly Endowment that our proposal called "Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Indiana Pastors" has been approved. This is exciting news because of the benefits that our pastors and families will experience. All 70 congregations, in both Indiana and Michigan, and every credentialed person (over 200), may benefit from this initiative.

Our proposal was approved for $280,000. In the next two years, the North Central Ministerial Excellence Fund (NCMEF), the overseeing body of the grant, will need to raise an additional $180,000. This combined amount will be given away in grants that meet the criteria of the proposal. It is our plan to raise a total of $1.7 million in the next ten years that will help establish an endowment for years to come.

Grant Guidelines

Targets For The NCMEF Grant

  • Target pastors with income under $45,000 per year
  • Target pastors with education debt
  • Target pastors with financial crisis

Grant Parameters

  • $3,600 per year maximum
  • Three to four year maximum
  • Financial counseling required
  • Pastoral contribution required
  • Matching dollars expected and required in any grants beyond one year
